First we look at the additional insulation technology. The so-called additional insulation technology is added to the basic insulation independently, which can ensure that the basic insulation is occasionally effective, providing a secondary shield for electric shock. However, it should be noted that the minimum thickness of the additional insulating single layer material must be greater than or equal to 0.4 mm in order to effectively provide cover protection.
The second common insulation technique is reinforced insulation. This technique is one of the many insulation systems to avoid electric shock, which is functionally equivalent to double insulation. When using reinforced insulation technology for circuit design, the minimum thickness of the single layer used inside is greater than or equal to 0.4 mm, which can provide several layers of insulation protection, but each layer cannot be tested by itself.
A third common method of insulation is basic insulation. This technology is the most basic insulation method to avoid electric shock of the switching power adapter. It is also a relatively clear insulation technology introduced in various textbooks. This article will not go into details here. However, basic insulation alone is not absolutely safe, and engineers need to reach safety requests through additional insulation and shield grounding secondary shields, such as coil interlayer insulation.
